so...Hi

i am new here, just bought a Digilux2 via eBay and anxiously waiting for it to arrive, my first Leica, hopefully not my last.

I use a Nikon D300 system right now, but I am so excited about getting to grips with the Digilux2

Looking for any feedback about where I can buy accessories for this camera (esp the wide angle converter) online? Someone that will post things to Turkey hopefully!

Anyways, Hello!

Vincent

you can see one or two of my efforts from my time living in Japan here...

Welcome vincent ......

i think you'll find the forum full of Digilux 2 users and lovers. One you receive the camera please come back and ask questions ...... many of the users on this forum will pass you all types of links filled with FANTASTIC information about the D2..

once again - enjoy and welcome

Welcome, Vincent, I hope you come to love the D2 as much as many of us do on this forum, and I'm confident that you will. Just remember to try shooting jpeg only so that you can experience the difference in delay writing to the SD card from raw + jpeg.

Pete.

Vincent,

Welcome and congrats with your purchase. The camera is easy to use, and the lens is outstanding.

Many accesories are also available on eBay (Leica or other brands). The wide converter is or was available in the Panasonic online shops. I do not have one myself, but it was quite expensive.

Best

Vincent, welcome!

Your D2 will be a fine complementary camera to your DSLR system. I have owned mine since new and it is in use on most days, primarily for family and home projects. However you will see an exception to my current procedure if you look at the Evita portfolio in my website gallery. (Website link below) Those pictures show just how useful the D2 can be with its silent operation and fast lens.

By all means try jpeg capture but not at the expense of never capturing raw files. Whenever I can live with the processing lag, I invariably shoot raw files. They allow so much more flexibility in processing. Evita was shot that way.
