Advertisement Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Hi jamriman, Take a look here Used M9? Unbelievable!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted November 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2009 Yeah right. 0 feedback too.............
Guest EarlBurrellPhoto Posted November 12, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 12, 2009 Chap with zero feedback, item already bid to USD1100 above MSRP, claims he's selling a decent-looking black M9 to finance a sickly gray one?? Something is fishy. I suspect a bogus listing and shill bidding (or stupid people who think the 2 lenses are included). But I could be wrong. There are some people who buy Leicas who have a completely different set of ideals of normalcy than the rest of the photographic world.

stealthman_1 Posted November 13, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 13, 2009 When I first saw this last night, I thought, "I wonder if it will turn 10 grand?" $9700 and counting. The last guy who sold for a BIN was crazy.
jamriman Posted November 13, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted November 13, 2009 I asked him if the lenses are included and he said no BUT he did not clarify this on his auction. I think he had a BIN for $7600. If it's legit, he must be very happy!

jaapv Posted November 13, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 13, 2009 0 feedback makes it more believable. A crook would have faked feedback.
mby Posted November 13, 2009 Share #9 Posted November 13, 2009 (...) (U+C+I) x (10-S))/20 x A x 1/(1-sin(F/10) Have you already calculated the odds of this auction going seriously wrong and Murphy's Law hitting the buyer? ;-) Best regards, Michael
jaapv Posted November 13, 2009 Share #10 Posted November 13, 2009 La loi d'emmerdement maximal? Sounds much nicer than sod's law... The formula comes close to 10.... A is extremely high, S probably low and F also low....
aesop Posted November 13, 2009 Share #11 Posted November 13, 2009 ...no big deal - sold my M9 (albeit not on eBay) after 3 days use . Used M9s are believable and, for the record, I am in no way affiliated to this transaction.

I think he had a BIN for $7600. If it's legit, he must be very happy! And if it's not legit, I bet he's even happier It must really be nice to be so rich and so cavalier about your money that you'd pay several thousand over retail just to get your hands on a camera now rather than wait a few months, knowing that from there on it won't be worth more than any other M9. ...no big deal - sold my M9 (albeit not on eBay) after 3 days use . Used M9s are believable and, for the record, I am in no way affiliated to this transaction. My colleague who lent me his M9 for a week, has also sold his already and gone back to his M8s. But he sold it for the same retail price he paid. Already that's doing very well on a camera that was used professionally, with several thousand actuations in a short time. It is a decent camera, but just was not right for me.
ddbg Posted November 14, 2009 Share #14 Posted November 14, 2009 I was curious and searched it on Ebay. The bid is now at USD$10,100.00. A few people really want to get it.
stealthman_1 Posted November 14, 2009 Share #15 Posted November 14, 2009 So, now that we've got a little more guidance as to where this might go, any guesses as to where it ends up? There is still a lot of money in this world. $12,100?
jaques Posted November 14, 2009 Share #16 Posted November 14, 2009 at the prices M9's are listed in NZ- and assuming the sale is legit and goes through- the seller will make over 5K USD profit. In which case he can get his grey m9 for less that 2K...
viramati Posted November 15, 2009 Share #17 Posted November 15, 2009 My God I'm tempted to sell. Any offers!!!! (joking)
jamriman Posted November 15, 2009 Author Share #18 Posted November 15, 2009 Nice investment. $7000 to $12,000. $5000 profit? Order another one for only $2K. Sweet. Leica must hate ebay! BTW the guy is totally legit. I had much communication with him. Lucy bastard.
brill64 Posted November 15, 2009 Share #19 Posted November 15, 2009 there's nothing like a shortage to put people on their toes..and an eye to the main chance as long as there are plenty of people with more money than sense in this world
Mauribix Posted November 16, 2009 Share #20 Posted November 16, 2009 I'd have to sell my M9... And it's grey too! At this moment I wish I'd have a black one!
