Do all the items in that batch have it? The old Elmarite Uh... it was a mixed artificial+natural light (my room - next to open window, and light on) M8 set to tungsten... and frankly didn't take care to WB (I thought to post it in BW, then thought was a pity for the red details...) : the front ring of the Elmar 90 3 element is indeed of a sane standard black... This is an outstanding combination - particularly using the 3-element Elmar 90. I am always at a loss to explain why the Visoflex and long-ish lenses with removable lens units were discontinued. I have a simple system for dealing with such sadness. Every so often, I reach for an older lens and say "Come along old friend, let's you and I go make pictures today". So, for example, in the studio where wide apertures are not needed, my 35mm Summilux stays at home, and the Summaron I inherited from my father more than 30 years ago and used as my 35mm lens for more than 25 years is fitted to my M8 and gets to take pictures of the pretty girls. As I discovered when I first went out with a newly-acquired IIIg some 30 years after trading in my original one, it still felt familiar to my hands. So use your old lens now and then - your fingers will not have forgotten how to use it. Your praise for the Tele-Elmarit is interesting - I'm looking for a lighter-weight alternative to my heavy 90mm Summicron, but have seen many warnings that the Tele-Elmarit is prone to flare.
