YES!!!!!!!!!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally a black one ( which is my favourite). I'm very happy. I`ve recieved it together with the super elmar 18mm and the grip.

I'm really impressed with:

-The shutter: There is a huge difference between the M9 and the old M8. I think I can shot one f-stop slower.

-How nice are the high lights and dynamic range. Now I understand the pictures of the M9 brochure.

-Colour rendering. Using capture one, the files are really easy to process getting incredible natural colours. I will try later lightroom.

-Resolution. 18mpx is really a huge image with incredible nice pixels. Viewing the files in my Eizo monitor at 100% or even 150% leave me breathtaking. The leica pixels are really nice.

-Iso button. Really easy but I have to get use.

-Soft mode. I've try a couple of times and it works. Is going to be a nice option working with low light.

-Exposure compesation options. Much more easy to set and work quick.

I don´t like:

-The new paint of the M9. It's not so smooth like my M8.

-Viewing files in the LCD works really bad. So huge and big files in a tiny camera. OK no problem. I'll view my files at home. Let's hope that new firmware fix it.

I'm getting use to the camera. Now I'm just shooting easy shots trying to learn the new frame of my lenses (three years with my M8). It's not going to be easy. I'm feeling quite strange. I was really used to my M8. My 50mm cron in a couple of weeks is going to be great. May be next year I'll get the summilux and I would love to have a 90mm. I feel my 75cron a bit short.

The 18mm super elmar is amazing!

I'm pleased you got your camera. I have found that the plastic film on the base plate starts to peel off on its own, so if you are one of those that like to keep it be careful.

Viewing files on the LCD - I have found it difficult to judge focus when zooming in, it was possible with the M8 but with the M9 the files seem to be too big for resolution of the LCD.

So I am not the only one - I thought on the LCD that the M9 was softer than the M8 - but my computer told me differently. :)

And happy shooting with your M9, Miguel. You'll love that camera.

I took it off at the first moment. :D Why should I keep it?

Congrats, Miguel. Did you pick up that mint used 35 cron for either your M8 or M9 (assume you kept the M8)?

Jeff

Hi Jeff

Of course I keep my M8. I´m going to use it as a second body and in places or situations where I wouldn´t risk my m9. I would love to have a 35mm for my M8 as a one lens camera, but now my pockets are empty. Anyway if I found one in good conditions and good price, I will digg a little bit more in my pockets.:D

Regards.

Miguel

Jaap, I'm into that too.

I guess some sort of bad preview is showing up in the M9 LCD , and it gets more and more visible as you zoom in, especially with the last two steps of zoom.

Let's hope for a firmware fix. ;)

that's a relief! I was thinking exactly the same with my M9 - I was starting worry until I saw the real files.

Richard and Jean-Luc

I've tried some shots with the 18mm looking for vignetting, distorsion and Chromatic Aberration. Not found any special. Just the opposite. For the moment I'm really impressed and when I compare the files with my combo M8+15mm CV,a big smile come to my face.

I've read about the magenta cast on the corner of this lens but for me its really difficult to see it. The lens is incredible sharp and together with the M9 are goin to be perfect.

This shot is not crop through capture one with no postprocessing.
