Advertisement Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi sabears, Take a look here Leica fakes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted November 4, 2009 Share #22 Posted November 4, 2009 Well. at least is a "honest" fake... none, after such a work, can reasonably think that someone thinks it's an original...

earleygallery Posted November 4, 2009 Share #25 Posted November 4, 2009 And the bloke who bought it thought it was real, he assumed it was a special edition released for the Berlin Olympics. The antiques expert was being very diplomatic in how he explained that it was indeed a fake, and suggested that he just appreciate it for what it is. I'm not sure the owner was satisfied though! OK it's a case of buyer beware, but it's sad that so many people out there are just looking to rip others off all the time.
mikebidwell Posted November 5, 2009 Share #26 Posted November 5, 2009 Yep saw the programme, must have been quite a shock for the guy to be told he had a fake. Regards Mike B
carbon_dragon Posted January 28, 2010 Share #27 Posted January 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've had one something like this I bought on EB. There wasn't enough clearance between the body and the internals to load film! On the other hand, the lens was actually pretty good and when I my tech fixed that, it worked as quite a good camera. Go figure. I had another one that looked like what it was, a Fed and ironically the Leica fake was actually a better made copy.
jsrockit Posted February 1, 2010 Share #28 Posted February 1, 2010 Well at £480, they must have thought it was real! Actually, that price should tell you its fake... it would be a lot more money if it was truly real I would think.
