leicamann Posted November 27, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 27, 2006 ok since we are at the bottom of the chain, we can safely post the technical details. Leicaflex SL/ R 28mm F2.8 Elmarit( second version)/Warming filter/Fuji 64T..expensive film but nice results. Exposed for 4 minutes , in the rain..otherwise the water would look different. And lastly, our Microtek Scanner has once again clogged up with dust and is in need of servicing, so believe it or not this is just the Epson Perfection 4990 Photo, it does a fantastic job and is working in true 64 bit!!! Ok ..thanks for looking. Regards, Leicamann
martinop Posted November 27, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 27, 2006 Like the compostions & night lighting / reflections in #1 and #3 with #3 as my personal favorite i.e. details.
jmr Posted November 27, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 27, 2006 John, rich and silky smooth pictures - very nice indeed.
andybarton Posted November 27, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I thought that the water was an ice rink, until I read your notes at the bottom, John. Very pleasing results, I have to say.
fotografr Posted November 27, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 27, 2006 Very nice work, John. I particularly like the last one. It seems to have the most cohesiveness of the three. Colors in all are excellent.
abrewer Posted November 27, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 27, 2006 Wow! Colors in the reflections are wonderful John. In that first one the water is so smooth it looks like a pane of frosted glass lying there...impressive scanning from that little flatbed. Thanks for sharing. pemayeux Posted November 27, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 27, 2006 Nice work again John! I especially like the third shot. The color really snaps out of the darkness and looks great against the smooth water. Thanks for sharing.
LADP Posted November 27, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 27, 2006 Nice series, John. I like the third one the best as well. The color and detail in the sky is wonderful, and in particular the reflection of the Christmas lights on the water (from the building) plays beautifully. robert_parker Posted November 27, 2006 Share #12 Posted November 27, 2006 John The third one really catches my eye as well - I like the balance and the harmony of the image. I also like the abstract quality of the pools of light in #2, especially as the ripples in the water on the right can be seen, to bring the image full circle from abstract to reality. ijporter Posted November 28, 2006 Share #13 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm with you, too Robert - my favourite part of the three is the reflections in image #2. Thanks John
stuny Posted November 28, 2006 Share #14 Posted November 28, 2006 John - Terrific series, as usual. Love the colors, composition, and the effect of the long exposures on the water.
