reven Posted November 26, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I just finished some shots. I wanted to show them to you on one side. On the other I really would like your help. I need 3 of these 5 images but after working on them for quite a long time, it's really hard for me to decide. I would really appreciate your help. Cyrshot Posted November 27, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2006 2,3,5 Seem to capture the best composition. I usualy enjoy BW but 2 seems to stand out much better than 1.
davidmires Posted November 27, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 27, 2006 I like 1,3,and 4 the most. 1 is my favorite by far. Cheers, David
ijporter Posted November 27, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 27, 2006 Hi Christopher, If you want to depict autumn, then I think you are really bound to use colour, so (although I like #1 as an image) I'd choose #2 and #4 because they have a more unified composition than the others, and a good centre of interest. I'd skip #3 because of two reasons; the paths lead the eye in all different directions and; the shadows bisecting the colour of the trees diminish the impact. I quite like the top half of #5, but find the dominance of the asphalt in the foregound a distraction. So, if you're looking for an 'autumn' selection, I'd only choose #2 and #4. If you have to have a third colour image, I'd crop the bottom off #3 to minimise the paths, but otherwise I'd choose #1. A long answer to a short question, but you ought to expect that in forums such as this, you will get as many different opinions as you have respondents! With best wishes, Ian

jmr Posted November 27, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Christopher, I think 2,3 and 5 are the best. For me, 2 is the stand-out shot, very subtle.
azzo Posted November 27, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 27, 2006 Christopher, i' d go for colour, first of all, since there's only one in B&W. My peference would go to the 02, 03 and 05. Very nicely captured, BTW. Best Azzo
robert_parker Posted November 27, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 27, 2006 #1, 3 and 4 for me - I particularly like the light and the atmosphere of the B+W shot but also like the colours and detail in the other two
spylaw4 Posted November 28, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 28, 2006 2,4,5 are my choices.
stuny Posted November 28, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 28, 2006 Christopher - If I know your intended use I might be able to provide better comment than going in "blind". Lovely images, though.
mitchell Posted November 28, 2006 Share #12 Posted November 28, 2006 First, I really like these shots. 2 is my favorite. I think you'd really have to be BW prejudiced to choose 1 over it. 3, and 5 are my other choices. I think the paths in 3 enhance the image, lending a little complexity. Maybe you could crop a little of the road off the bottom of 5, but that element makes the picture. Without it, the picture becomes much more ordinary. So be careful or leave the way it is. 4 is kind perplexing to me. It doesn't fit with the others. It seems to have everything and yet I'm not crazy about it. It's feels a little in-your-face somehow to me whereas the others are subtle and luring me in, not selling me. Great work, Thanks, Mitchell
fotografr Posted November 28, 2006 Share #13 Posted November 28, 2006 So, if you're looking for an 'autumn' selection, I'd only choose #2 and #4.
