Marty Posted October 18, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 18, 2009 There was another [thread=79807]thread[/thread] on this and possibly more; shouldn't be hard to replace.

This happens from time to time, but if you ask Leica they will give you a few red dots for free and then you can easily attach a new one yourself using good quality glue. I can just imagine some war photo journalist in some war torn conflict looking down at his camera and remarking- "Oh shit the red dots fallen off my lens" I mean, come on
dpattinson Posted October 20, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 20, 2009 Losing the red dot makes it mildly irritating changing lenses in low light, otherwise it's obviously entirely cosmetic.
wilfredo Posted October 20, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had to replace the Red dot on my Leica 90mm Elmarit twice. Thankfully each time Leica sent one free.

David, Don't get me wrong in fact I can identify were the original poster is coming from. Only last year I replaced my very old but trusted Quad amplifier for a Sugden class A amplifier. I noticed that when I put my head against the loudspeaker I could hear a hum when I upped the volume over a certain level and commented on my concern to the MD at Sugden. He asked me if it was my normal practice to listen to music with my head resting on one of the loudspeakers? to which I said it wasn't so he said, well it is not a problem then is it? to which I had to admit was rather silly on my part. I guess I just needed it put into perspective
