wilfredo Posted July 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I went for an oil change yesterday. I've posted pictures of Max (my Compadre) before. His face reminds me of Sitting Bull. Inca wisdom pours out of his wrinkles. Last year he lost his youngest son. I can still see the grief in his eyes. He is a good man, and the most ethical car technician I've ever known. M8, 50mm Summilux ASPH.

aesop Posted July 14, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 14, 2010 ...great series, Wilfredo - Max's face does indeed speak volumes and would, in my opinion, benefit from a bit of burning in (on the first image).

Your point is well taken. I removed it and did a touch of burning, it now appears as the third image.

thompsonkirk Posted July 14, 2010 Share #9 Posted July 14, 2010 I agree with everyone about what a fine series this is. I think I'd print the candle in BW too, so that it might appear in the series in counterpoint with the portrait & the mechanic's light. Kirk

That was a photo I pulled from my files. Here's a B&W version. Too bad it's too late to delete the color version.

LLT Posted July 16, 2010 Share #16 Posted July 16, 2010 Wilfredo, the shot of Max under the car is my favourite! I think you've managed to capture a piece of him there... not just him as a technician but more. The 50/1.4 asph is a beautiful lens! Congrats! You've inspired to take mine out again.. haven't touched it in awhile.
