stevem7 Posted December 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sure, I could post this in the images gallery but since there are so few X1 images out and about I thought I would post it here. ISO 3200 from tonight Looks good for 3200 huh?
Advertisement Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Hi stevem7, Take a look here The X1 at ISO 3200. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marcusperkins Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2009 Steve - your pictures always look good. This could have been shot for a high profile marketing campaign for any camera, and would sit well in something like Vogue. Well done.
dpattinson Posted December 22, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2009 not bad at all for 3200, I might have to take another look.
jsrockit Posted December 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 22, 2009 Would love to see it in color.
peterb Posted December 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2009 Nice shot. (Note to self: Contrast AF and mirrors may not mix. Or, no amount of image stablization can lasso such passion.)
wda Posted December 22, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2009 It is certainly impressive, from several points of view. What, if any, noise reduction did you do in PP?
stevem7 Posted December 22, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted December 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks guys! This has had NO PP and no NR. Ill have a full review soon with all kinds of info and samples but I will be shooting it for 2-3 weeks to get to know it really well. The camera is gorgeous though. Love the size and feel. pappde Posted December 22, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 22, 2009 So, please tell me how did you get the camera? BTW can you get me one too? Denes
grober Posted December 22, 2009 Share #9 Posted December 22, 2009 Photog's brain waves: "Let's see -- is it gently squeeze the shutter release or gently squeeze the girl or . . . both?" -g
SiOnara Posted December 22, 2009 Share #10 Posted December 22, 2009 Thanks guys! This has had NO PP and no NR. Ill have a full review soon with all kinds of info and samples but I will be shooting it for 2-3 weeks to get to know it really well. The camera is gorgeous though. Love the size and feel. The shot of Brandon is quite amazing. So clear, the whites are creamy and a nice DOF.
Rick Posted December 23, 2009 Share #11 Posted December 23, 2009 Steve, thanks for the pic. I think when this camera comes out is going to surprise a lot of the internet camera jockies with what great images it can produce. The Lumix DMC-GF1 with its APS-C small sensor starts to get ragged at iso 400 and just isn't going to hold up to the images of the X1. I've got my name on one. I won't go further and turn this into another X1 bashing here, but I am really look forward to this camera and it is going to fit my needs well. Grober, I believe the saying is, "Squeeze'er easy!" Rick Posted December 24, 2009 Share #13 Posted December 24, 2009 You are hardly going to change your name to RickRicoh I don't know... I kind of like SuaveRicoh. But, I'd have to sell all of this Leica glass I got in the divorce and buy my GRII back and take on a kind of loose photographic style... if anyone knows what I mean. Guest stnami Posted December 24, 2009 Share #14 Posted December 24, 2009 and take on a kind of loose photographic style... if anyone knows what I mean.please.......one is enough in this world........... then too staid should be avoided .............high iso is pretty good here Steve, very much playable in Playstation. Focusing by what means?
stevem7 Posted December 24, 2009 Author Share #15 Posted December 24, 2009 Used AF, just a point and shoot moment...
Rick Posted December 24, 2009 Share #16 Posted December 24, 2009 please.......one is enough in this world......... Could, I at least bore people with a photo essay of, I don't know, maybe... Cross cultural street photography of subjects glaring hatefully into the not-so-unseen lens of my all-too-obvious camera, invading their personal privacy? I could do the whole project in my loose style of capturing the decisive moment of their utter distain for me? I'd wear a black knit stocking cap, of course. And, I'd promise to shoot the whole project at 3200... and I'd even add grain in Nik!
Guest stnami Posted December 24, 2009 Share #17 Posted December 24, 2009 Used AF, just a point and shoot moment.....gee it must have focused quick your lips never met as someone stated earlier the whole project at 3200...as long as you pull it 5 stops to the left
ptu Posted February 1, 2010 Share #18 Posted February 1, 2010 I am no match for Steve, but here is two shots with ISO 3200, unedited and BW (Lightroom2). Both are shot with camera jpeg. Both shot handheld, but supported with reeling. Outside is heavy snow storm going on thus extra grain in picture. Welcome, dear visitor! Logic108 Posted February 1, 2010 Share #19 Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks - it's a shame the conditions here are so bad at the moment. But still great that you could get a shot at all. I see low contrast but not much noise. Looking forward to more of your shots. Congratulations on your new camera.
Don Helmudo Posted February 1, 2010 Share #20 Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks for the sample, I do not see much noise. Congrats to Suomi for receiving the X1 as one of the first (although delivered via Austria ) Looking forward for your pictures of the northern lights
