23mm f2.0 T Lens Hood

Am I the only one annoyed by the hood design?

The hood is huge. A few issues I have:

1- The lens and hood do not fit in the included pouch together

2- The hood is bigger than the lens.

3- When hood is mounted on lens backwards its impossible to put the lens on the camera as it hides the red dot.

4. It is also extremely difficult to remove the hood (when mounted backwards) since it covers the entire lens and you have nothing to grasp.

For now the hood stays home when I shoot...it just gets in the way.

The hood works fine for me.

I reverse it while the lens is mounted on the camera, before putting the camera in my bag, a Billingham Pola Stowaway, I'm pleased that the whole thing fits in such a small bag.

Those last two issues I completely agree with!

On the zoom, the hood is pretty large too. I haven't found it to be that needed and it makes the camera look like a big Japanese DSLR by adding so much length and girth to the lens, so it stays home.

I've decided that both hoods belong in my dry cabinet and not in the lenses :-(

I wish we could have had more modest sized hoods - is it expecting too much to want a slide out hood like on some M lenses?

slide out hood would be ideal. Im ok with the zoom hood, its the 23mm hood thats a joke.

Isn't hood size determined by the lens? Don't you need sufficient hood to block stray light and cut down flare?

I'm all for a slide out like the Summilux 50 has, but alas I think it is too late for that design decision.
