rob_x2004 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #2 Â Posted November 17, 2009 Do it yourself with the camera leather or griptacs. Plenty of threads on it.
sfokevin Posted November 17, 2009 Author Share #3 Â Posted November 17, 2009 Do it yourself with the camera leather or griptacs. Plenty of threads on it. Â But that's not quite the same as seeing $14 Grand deducted from your bank account...
rob_x2004 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #4 Â Posted November 17, 2009 I might get some white griptac for me bp. Cool I reckon.
thrice Posted November 17, 2009 Share #5 Â Posted November 17, 2009 White griptac? Or do you mean the Grey colour? I do wish they made griptac in more colours (blue/red/purple/green and the more subtle tones) such a good covering.
rob_x2004 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #6 Â Posted November 17, 2009 No white? Ah well. Grey or black on hte cards after I am sure no one has to break into the camera for repair again again again....again. Saw some of the (faux?) leathers looked good. jaapv Posted November 17, 2009 Share #8 Â Posted November 17, 2009 Uhh.. Hermes sold their Leica interest years ago... Sensor rewind on that M9 too I see...
Overgaard Posted November 17, 2009 Share #9 Â Posted November 17, 2009 The Hermes MP was cool. Kind of the Ur-Hermes... Â I guess if one asked hard enough, one could get a Hermes edition M9 made by Leica for one self.

thrice Posted November 18, 2009 Share #12 Â Posted November 18, 2009 I've noted this elsewhere, but I call shenanigans on this "Hermes" edition. Â It's an MP body with an M7 rewind, you can see this for yourself, all the hardware is MP except for the rewind knob. Seems a little silly to make a special edition 'M7' that looks basically like an MP with a different rewind knob.
epand56 Posted November 18, 2009 Share #13 Â Posted November 18, 2009 I would also suggest a Gucci hat with an Artemide intermittent lamp on top and some Armani's strass here and there, to be worn when shooting around (should it ever happen) with the Hermes camera. Â Â Phew! As long you don't propose a D&G or a Versace M9 model (arg... those vulgar and incredible bad taste fashion designers) it's ok for me, Enrico! Surely, what makes an M7 and M7 is the gubbins inside the camera?
tgray Posted November 19, 2009 Share #16 Â Posted November 19, 2009 Looks like an M7 to me. Has the on-off switch and if I squint hard enough, I can convince myself it says M7 on the top
Mauribix Posted November 21, 2009 Share #17 Â Posted November 21, 2009 BTW, that's a silver anodized 35mm lux ASPH! Interesting hood too... mmm... will they ever sell that lens separately?

Seems a little silly to make a special edition 'M7' that looks basically like an MP with a different rewind knob.  i think you'll find it's an m7 body with an mp rewind, shutter dial and scripted text on the top plate - shenanigans all available a-la-carte (you can build your own fro order on the leica website). it has an on/off switch in front of the shutter release which screams m7, look carefully. it says m7 on the top in front of the hotshoe. it also has a silver leicavit fitted in place of the standard baseplate and a special edition silver metal lens hood fitted to the 35lux asph., in fact quite similar to the m8 white edition (but that has white text) minus the orange (which is suspicious), it looks gorgeous..
