enboe Posted August 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) So, I just received a vintage Leica IR filter in 39mm thread and decided to try it out on the M8 today. Upon seeing photos on the playback screen, all I could think was, "this is so cool!" Fun stuff for less than $60 on top of the gear I already own. Tech details: ISO 2500, Color Temp 2000K, f/5.6, 1/125 or 1/180 sec, 28/2.8/ASPH refocused to a point between f/4 and f/5.6 on the depth of field scale, LR processing. Oh, and sorry these pictures are not "stock-worthy". Enjoy. Eric Welcome, dear visitor! tobey bilek Posted August 26, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 26, 2013 No but you have to start somewhere. This us a learning/trial and now you are ready to get serious.
wda Posted August 26, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 26, 2013 The M8 is the right body for further experimentation. A good start with much to enjoy in your future trials.

enboe Posted August 26, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted August 26, 2013 The vintage Leica filter is just marked IR. Perhaps someone else can lend insight into an equivalent filter number.
tobey bilek Posted August 27, 2013 Share #6 Posted August 27, 2013 The Leica ir is close to 092 B+W . I use then interchangeably. Back in the film days, I bought some Kodak gels, cut them in a circle, and a bit of clear tape hold them to the inside of a UV. Lee also made polyester ir that work ok. Cut cut ok also.
