Artichoke Posted June 3, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I picked up a 135 Elmarit f2.8, but this was the head only it was a bargain & seems in good shape I have not been able to use this with the Viso as I cannot find an adapter for it naively I thought I could use my Universal focus mount & adapter with it, but so far have not been able to find the right adapter this may not be possible, short of having an adapter milled to order for it, but I was hoping someone here might shed some light on how I can get this working

Nevertheless it will be hard to find. If your have access to them, go through the LHSA Catalogs [sic].
luigi bertolotti Posted June 4, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 4, 2007 OK 16462 focusing unit (I suppose You have this one), but you have to add the 16474 (aka OUEPO) adapter ring, the same for the Summicron 90 head. Not impossible to find... I have one but of course do not sell it.
doubice Posted June 4, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 4, 2007 OK 16462 focusing unit (I suppose You have this one), but you have to add the 16474 (aka OUEPO) adapter ring, the same for the Summicron 90 head. Luigi, The only adapter needed is the 16462. The 16474 has to be used together with the 16462 and its only function is to extend the focusing range down to 93 cm. Another possibility is to get the Bellows model II and use the 16598 adapter but, infinity focus will not be posssible. Arthur, the 16462 works the same way as your Universal Focusing Mount 16464, except that it is of course of a larger diameter to accomodate the lens and it has a shorter extension. I am afraid that finding the 16462 mount is the only way to go for you. There is always the bellows II, but you'll not be able to focus to infinity and will still need obscure adapters. Best, Jan

I was too in hurry to give an answer... damn, I HATE to post such mistakes... love too much all these rings & Co... and, really, If Arthur has not the 16462 a problem can exist... do not think is so an easy find... Artichoke Posted July 14, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted July 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I finally have the ZOOEP (love the names Leica gives to Viso parts ...I think Ikea adapted this idea of funky names to their product line:o ) AKA 16462 adapter for my 135 Elmarit f2.8 ...I found the adapter on the Internet from a shop in NY shortly after losing out on an Ebay auction for one ...the auction went at > $150 and I got mine for $90 so needless to say I was pleased I already have the Tele Elmar 135 f4 which is my favorite Viso macro lens and while the f2.8 is a great deal bigger, it is still svelte compared to the 135 f2 DC Nikkor (sweet hunk of glass that) I use with my SLR system as has been the case with many of my forays into the realm of vintage Leica glass, I have been very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this lens ...here is a sample Welcome, dear visitor!
