fotohuis Posted June 10, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just tried the new Retro 100 TONAL (Orthopan) film in CG-512. E.I. 50, 14:00 minutes at 24 C. M7 + Summicron 2,0/50mm The regular film speed in AM74/RHS is E.I. 80-E.I. 100. The Orthopan film goes till 625nm and in 135-36 it has been made on 100 micron clear Polyester layer. The film is very flat so easy to enlarge or scan. Due to the very fresh emulsion the Ortho sensitizer tends to have white spotts in the negative due to the Calcium salts. So the new emulsion must be developed in a developer made in destilled water. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Hi fotohuis, Take a look here Rollei Retro 100 Tonal in CG-512/RLS. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
underground Posted June 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2010 I used distilled water with rollei 25, it worked well. I found it to be a little more work, maybe because I'm not used to it. Have you tried D.I. water? I am going to get a couple of gallons from work to see how it does.
fotohuis Posted June 12, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted June 12, 2010 The "problem" will be temporary because if the film is a bit older it will disappear.(Checked on a PO100C emulsion). So far not a problem with CG-512 1+4 because you're mixing 50ml super water (and developer) with 200ml reasonable tap water quality. But when trying Rodinal 1+50 or 1+100 the problem is often there, because you have all tap water then. I always put some demi-water in the fridge because it's easy to fit on the right temperature (20C ) in Summer. BTW it's possible to develop on sight with this film with a very dark red light (X-ray), because it's an Orthopan emulsion. 610nm and then dropped very quickly (625nm).
