ymc226 Posted July 15, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted July 15, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) For purely B&W prints, what are the differences? The Hahnemuhle website does not provide an adequate description for me to understand the differences. Has anyone worked with both of these papers that can comment? Â I print using an Epson 3880 with ImagePrint 9 RIP.

topoxforddoc Posted July 15, 2012 Share #2  Posted July 15, 2012 Why don’t you ask your favourite paper supplier to give you a sample of each to try?
Jeff S Posted July 15, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted July 15, 2012 The suggestion to test for yourself is a good one. Â In addition to the company site, a web search comparing baryta papers will bring up various comparisons of these and other papers. Among other things, Fine Art Baryta is a slightly heavier paper (325 vs 315 gsm for PRB), has OBAs (unlike PRB) and is cellulose based (versus cotton rag for PRB). Â For me, each print is considered separately, and usually one paper suits more than another. I stock Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl for a creamier base and Photo Rag Baryta for a whiter base. I use Canson Infinty Baryta Photographique for an even whiter tone; it's another terrific paper. And Ilford Gold Fibre Silk (now called Prestige Gold Fibre Silk) remains an all-around great paper, especially for my color work. Â Jeff
