Advertisement Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Hi jwcane.enw, Take a look here Leica Macro Adapter-R. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TimF Posted March 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2009 A couple of books I have - Brian Bower's "Leica R Photography" and Fritz Meisnitzer's "Leica R6" both have tables saying when the lens is set to 0.5m, the distance between the subject and lens is 9.9cm (it's 11.6cm when the lens is at infinity). Presumably these are Leica supplied figures.
pierovitch Posted March 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2009 From the Macro adaptor -R instruction sheet. at infinity 11.6cm from front of lens 1:1.75 magnification 42 x 63mm object size at 0.5 m 9.9cm from front of lens 1:1.42 magnification 34 x 51mm object size
masjah Posted March 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 9, 2009 Just a footnote to the above posts; if you need to get even closer in, you can use the Macro Adapter in conjunction with the Elpro 1 or 2 close-up lenses. For example, in conjunction with the Elpro 2, infinity focus gives 1:1.2 (6.9mm distance) and 0.5m focus gives 1:1.04 (6.0mm distance) . But of course, it's not at all easy in practical terms to manage such close distances, and the quality is not nearly as good as the 100/2.8 Macro Elmarit with its own dedicated Elpro. The Elpro 1 and 2 lenses come up second hand from time to time.
