yanidel Posted October 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 9, 2009 Just bare with me in my quest for sympathy over waiting for the M9. I am currently in line at three dealers in sweden, but none has arrived yet. So frustrating..... Aaaargh! Yes, it is frustrating, I hope we all get it soon. But it is as frustrating to know that people place multiple orders at several dealers and therefore produce artificial waiting lists. This probably bias Leica orders allocation to the benefit of the impatients vs the loyals (to their dealers). But anyway, long term loyalty pays more ... Jelico Posted October 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 9, 2009 Just bare with me in my quest for sympathy over waiting for the M9. I am currently in line at three dealers in sweden, but none has arrived yet. So frustrating..... Aaaargh! Join the club… After talking with number of dealers I went with Robert White where I am buying for decade and their service was always outstanding. They have order list with over 40 names (and rising) and only handful of pre-paid orders. I really hope that many made multiple orders like you did so the deliveries for us who paid the full amount will start soon.

I really hope that many made multiple orders like you did so the deliveries for us who paid the full amount will start soon. If there is any consellation, i asked 2 of 3 stores to remove my name from their waiting list. Hopefully i went with the right one. I talked to two dealers today, and in Sweden it works like this: all dealers in Sweden order their cameras from the Danish Leica agent, and dealers claim they have made initial orders before 9/9. And in those orders not all cameras are taken. And, no camera has been delivered in Sweden so far. So in reality my three places on the waiting list has no effect on the orders to the factory. fotografr Posted October 9, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 9, 2009 Look at it this way: Once the camera comes you'll be out shooting with it, then after a while the newness will wear off and it will all be old hat. As long as it doesn't come, you get to enjoy the anticipation. As a little kid, what was better...the night before Christmas, or the week after? After three years I enjoy it so much. But the M9 will be more confortable and nicer hat. I have just one dealer. Is important to know the dealer and trust him. Now he tells me before the end of the month. The joy of shooting a M9 will be soon real.

JLV Posted October 9, 2009 Share #9 Posted October 9, 2009 Brent and Sean, I agree. The thrill of the wait is "almost " as good as the pleasure of possessing. But damn, weeks are long even if I enjoy my M8 as the first day. My dealer (south of France) told me that he talked with the Leica representative and that it was for next week. He will get only 2 black and has a waiting list of 10. Even if he gets only one it is OK for me because ...I am the first on the list:D All the best, Jean-Luc
