Ditto, I agree..this "lust: to get the latest newest "better "lens DOES NOT mean the old one was BAD.

You photograph clearly demontrates that its mostly contingent on the photographer.

Thanks for sharing

Hi guys, I'm a new one to the forum in anticipation of getting an M8. I've been going thru the archives and I seem to see a lot of images that lack snap.

Thomi I hope you will forgive me but I had to run you image thru PS to increase contrast and brightness and repost it just to see how the server will spit it back out to my monitor. I'm told that some servers can rob an image of snap. I notice on some other forums that I am on that this is not a problem. When it is a problem it's usually from a new shooter who doesn't have his camera setup correctly. But I seem to see a lot of low contrast images on this forum so it makes me wonder. I don't believe for a minute all this shooters are shooting with this lack of contrast.

So please, while your commenting on the lovely image Thomi has provided, could you also comment if the version I've manipulated looks too dark or contrasty on your monitor? My monitor is setup from this web site: Web Page Design for Designers - Colour

I think Holy Cow, Thanks Alaska and Bull also look a tad flat on my monitor/system.

Thomi, did you shoot "Brennt her was?" on another thread with the same camera? It looks perfect on my screen. When I tried to add more contrast to it, it went to hell in a handbasket! Nothing I could do made it better than as you posted it. Which by the way I think it's a great shot. I've tried it many times but never pull it off this well.

Hello Ray Swan,

I dont want to open a can of worms again but every member, out respect towards the photographer, should ask first if he or she can change a published picture in this forum, just my humble opinion.

A couple of weeks ago we have discussion about this and I started it and I don't want to start over again.
