rob_x2004 Posted November 21, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Any chance of English translations on emoticons. Some are perfectly self evident, but the purple and the pink, I often wonder. Some of the (German?) definitions are translatable in free web translators, some are not. Maybe I sometimes use an emoticon inappropriately. Regards Welcome, dear visitor! jmr Posted November 26, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 26, 2006 Rob, I've been making the same wrong assumptions as you have - and I'll probably carry on making them
Guest hansa Posted November 29, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 29, 2006 Guys, the two german titles of the pink one mean "red face"and "embarassment". Ooops!
ed_oneal Posted January 14, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 14, 2007 How do you get the Emoticons to appear in the text itself instead of just next to the title? Ed
jmr Posted January 14, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ed, you select them from the box labeled "smilies" to the right of the frame where you compose your post/reply. See the first post in this thread for an illustration
ed_oneal Posted January 14, 2007 Share #8 Posted January 14, 2007 I don't have a box labeled "smilies". There is nothing to the right of this box where I am typing. Ed
jmr Posted January 15, 2007 Share #9 Posted January 15, 2007 Ed, to see the box with the smilies, you need to be using the standard or enhanced editor - the basic editor doesn't show it. To select your editor type click on User CP from the top left of the page, then select Edit Options and scroll down to Miscellaneous Options and set the Message Editor Interface to either Standard or Enhanced. Hopfully you'll then see, and be able to select from, the smilies list.
