jaapv Posted September 25, 2009 Share #22 Posted September 25, 2009 At 2.0, maybe still at 2.8 the Summicron has the edge in resolution/sharpness, at smaller apertures there is very little to choose qualitywise. The 1.4 has considerable focus shift, making apertures between 2.0 and 5.6 difficult and is considerably more expensive. Of course, at 1.4 you have the bokeh and character. Not that there is anything wrong with the Summicron. That was the industry standard until the Summilux asph came out - we discussing the very top here.
