Film will be around as long as the motion picture industry keeps making movies. Film will

be around as long as still photographers keep making photographs.

Wait... That sounds stupid? No... That's right!

...And as long as industry will return it at an accessible price

How about this idea of digital vs film -

I still prefer to use film and a roll of TriX can be had for 3.60. That's 1944 rolls or 69,984

images. Let alone processing and printing. That is $6998.40 invested.

A new M9 is $7000.00. Let alone computer post production and backing up your work

on hard-drives and DVD disks, etc...

I love film and I love digital but I do less work when shooting film. Why is the price of

film a concern?

What is your opinion?
I am 61 years of age and I confidently expect film to be available for the rest of my lifetime in fact film is having quite a resurgence with people trading in thier digital technology for the real thing and colleges re instating darkrooms as they have realised that it is impossible to teach the rudiments of photography without one

We're still listening to radio. I suspect film has a way to go yet. It may become niche and less accessible, but it will be there as long as there are people who want to use it.
Ye but we used to call it the wireless. But seriously, film is here to stay. Digital technology has no soul and neither do the majority of pictures produced by that technology
