photophile Posted September 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) After a few trips to NJ - my 50 cron, 21, and 35 cron's are all tack sharp as matched to my m8. my newly acquired 50 lux however appears to be front focusing wide open at .7 meters. The question is.. is this apparent ff at such close range ( off by about 8mm ) worth adjsuting or will it then cause other issues at greater distance or other f -stops? any experience or expertise is welcome. photophile Posted September 22, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted September 22, 2009 I suspect I did not align it up perfectly square to the film/ccd plane. good point.
Shootist Posted September 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 22, 2009 With that chart you really need to set the camera up as close as possible on one side or the other and focus on the numbers and not that center line. Although Leica claims the RF is self adjusting for parallax but at the closest focusing distance it not totally correct. You can also tape (attach) that target to a wall, set the center of the lens at the same height as the center of one of the numbered areas (That is if your floor is level) and position the camera at about a 45º angle to the chart.
