ptomsu Posted September 22, 2009 Share #21 Posted September 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would say the 75 Summicron should be the best companion, if you want GLOW. No other lens can top this one wide open If you want razor sharp and glow go for the 2/90 APO this is the ultimate in sharpness and glow (due to OOF) you can get. Advertisement Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hi ptomsu, Take a look here Best companion for 35 Lux Asph on M9 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
NB23 Posted September 22, 2009 Share #22 Posted September 22, 2009 The bad thing about the M9 is that my 60mm Hexanon becomes again ... a 60mm. It is no more that wonderful 80mm 1.2 lens. Oh come on now. How can it "become" a different length? Anyway, to make you happy. just crop and there you have your 80mm lens back. Crop some more and you can even get a 500mm f1.2 lens if you wish. That's all, of course, by your logic.
yanidel Posted September 22, 2009 Author Share #23 Posted September 22, 2009 After reading the many inputs and lot of research, I finally bought a coded 75 Lux on the web. I was looking strong signature look which both the 35mm and 75mm Lux are known for at F1.4. According to many, the rendering of the two lenses seems similar. Yes, it is big and heavy but not that much more than the other contenders, so I will try. In the end, the price was decent so I will see how both the 60mm Hexanon and 75 Lux fare on the M8/9 and sell the loser. edit (and also try's ned suggestion of a 500mm 1.2 )

I would recommend to start using it at f2.0 and then getting a feeling of shooting it wide open. Dont shoot it wide open all the time since you might get frustrated to manage focus.
