Lasex Posted September 19, 2009 Share #1 Â Posted September 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a Summaron 35mm f2.8 in good condition, no haze etc. A very compact lens, too. I recently tested it on my M8 against a Summicron 35mm Pre-asph (70's or 80's vintage), and I really didn't see a difference between the pictures either at f 2.8 or smaller apertures (sorry, don't have those pictures anymor so I can't show theme). At f2 the Summicron was perhaps a little bit softer than the Summaron at f2.8. Â On the M8, with it's crop factor, the Summaron seems to be a good alternative to the pre-asph Summicron, if you don't need that extra stop (f2.8 vs. f2). Am I right? Any comments on the Summaron 35/2.8?
Advertisement Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Hi Lasex, Take a look here Summaron 35/2.8 vs. Summicron (pre-asph). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
batmobile Posted September 20, 2009 Share #2 Â Posted September 20, 2009 Shhhhh!!!! You'll put the prices of the Summaron up! Right now people are spending their money on V4 crons and the last thing we need is for Summarons 2.8s to soar!
Lasex Posted September 20, 2009 Author Share #3 Â Posted September 20, 2009 Ken Rockwell has a very high opinion of the 2.8/35 Summaron, too. Leica Leitz 35mm f/2.8 Summaron
