I cannot recommend too highly PureProfiles for its prompt service and backup – which are quite exceptional today. I was never happy with the A4 prints with my Canon ip8500: invariably too dark. So I ordered an ICC profile tailor-made to the paper I liked with this printer. All you do is download two A4 colour charts, print them as described in the detailed instructions and post them to the company, paying online via PayPal or by cheque (which extends the despatch time of course). A profile as named by me was emailed within 48hrs of my sending them the prints, at a cost of only £14.95.

But that wasn't the end of it: I saw a slight blue cast in a particularly demanding shot (extreme contrasts, detail in shadow etc) with the profile and the company has gone to endless trouble to examine some copies printed with different settings plus some of their own test image (also downloadable). I have had four helpful follow-up emails from PureProfiles plus the offer of two more lighter profiles to try. You could hardly better that at such a low cost – in fact it leaves me feeling somewhat embarrassed!
