Thanks for the comments. So the general consensus is that it shouldn’t be an issue using the Eclipse fluid with respect to the Q3 lens coating? It’s annoying that even though I have used a UV filter out of the box from new, I somehow managed to get a small spec of dust on the lens, which turned out to be a small smudge when I wiped it. I have to say that a washed microfibres cloth did not help by introducing more dust particles onto the lens. 😐

Does anyone have any recommendation on cleaning the lens on the Leica Q. I have just ordered up some Eclipse solution and Pec Pad sheets to hopefully remove the more resilient specs of dust (the usual blower and microfibre cloth have been unable to remove). However, I am concerned about using a solvent on the lens in case there is any damage to the lens coating.

After a week or so using the camera, I needed to redo the profiles so maybe not all that bad in the end…

I’m new to this so maybe not. But while the firmware was updating in the camera, Fotos returned to app mode and wasn’t displaying any firmware related messages.

Through Fotos which then transferred the FW to the SD card and installed from there.

Unfortunately didn’t get any prompts for exporting my settings.

Have just installed 1.2.0 and it has reset my camera to factory settings thus losing all of profiles etc. Never had a firmware update do that before; my first Leica so well done Leica.

Only had the camera for a few days. My first Leica too. And I absolutely love the camera to bits.

Thanks. Had assumed Favorites would be effective from the top of the menus down. I already have 6 user profiles set up. Will therefore have to create the Favorites 6 times….

Picked up my Q3 yesterday. All good and happy. With the exception of the Favourites menu. I configure the menu with 10 items; sometimes less. I can then see the Favourites menu as an asterisk in the header. All working ok. Then after turning the camera off and turning back on again, the asterisk has now disappeared. Going back to the Favourites in the menu everything is now toggled off. Has any else had this issue?

Received the same email today from Leica UK. Two minutes later, received another to say that I will be sent a link tomorrow morning to purchase a Q3. Obviously delighted. Not least because I never win anything where luck is concerned… So this will be my first Leica. Looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about. 😀
