ianman Posted September 19, 2009 Share #81 Posted September 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Am I the only one who will miss the ability to take IR photographs with the M9? I may keep my M8 just for this. Wilson Nope. It was a difficult decision for me, choosing between an 8.2 or a 9. I used to shoot a lot of Kodak HIE so I, for one, had no issue with the "IR issues" of the m8.x However FF and one stop better high iso clinched it. I will go back to film for IR, the Efke Aura looks really interesting. I will probably get an MP at some point so I can use the M lenses for both m9 and IR on the MP. When clearing out my cupboard in the UK in the spring, I found 2 rolls of Agfa APX200S IR film, that were only about a year out of date. I got them in a job lot of stuff I bought at an executor's sale (the Leitz table tripod with ball head, in mint order was what I really wanted). I have just put a roll in my M4 to see how it compares with the M8 for IR. When my M9 arrives, it will be interesting to put a B+W 092 filter on and see how much IR it still takes. thrice Posted October 13, 2009 Share #83 Posted October 13, 2009 Thrice you may want to recheck that quotation now that the release is official. In fact AUD 9949 inc GST quoted by 3 dealers I know of now. Get in line Interesting... My dealer just called to say there's been a $1000 price drop in RRP... I've paid in full but he's going to refund me a good portion of that, so I am essentially getting my camera for less than if I had imported and not paid import duty But then again I bought a lot of stuff at the same time. We're no longer the most expensive M9's in the world! (I don't think).

Of course all of 3 cameras are known to have been delivered for all of Australia so far. The trick is actually getting your hands on one! I ordered on the day of the announcement but the distributor says I may not get a camera from the next tiny trickle predicted for the end of October. On the price a dealer in Hong Kong who is a reliable source says that prices may go up on 1 December. That, if true, may be a USD thing since the HKD is tied to USD
