Ahh but what did they pay for it? £1000? .

I should have explained: Aperture has no Leica agency so cannot sell new. The M8 was sold for a customer at £1550 from which he would have received £1240. In fact the same story was repeated later in the week : another listed at same price went within 24hours. In London it would appear (from the Mayfair store) that delivery promise of week just ended went by the board and they are now looking at end of Sept for first batch of M9s. So we're holding on to our M8s for a little while longer! FWIW Red Dot had a used M8 listed at £1999 now two at £1799 but in less than mint condition.

That doesn't seem to stop The Classic camera selling "new"

Ffordes are listing 4 x Black & 1 x Chrome M8 and 2 x Black M8.2 and 1 x Chrome but not as attractive prices, for the buyer :)

No affiliations with any of the mentioned stores or indeed any not mentioned.

Interesting that no M8u have been spotted. Does this mean M8u owners are holding out for sapphire glass or they are just happy or fewer were upgraded than perhaps we thought ?
