jllbms Posted September 20, 2009 Share #41 Posted September 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just dropped $2500 for a silver M8 on the 'bay. Maybe too much, but not much is going for less. I really wanted a silver one, and I think they are less plentiful on the used market.
Advertisement Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Hi jllbms, Take a look here Used m8 value has not dropped. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
microview Posted September 20, 2009 Share #42 Posted September 20, 2009 Ahh but what did they pay for it? £1000? . I should have explained: Aperture has no Leica agency so cannot sell new. The M8 was sold for a customer at £1550 from which he would have received £1240. In fact the same story was repeated later in the week : another listed at same price went within 24hours. In London it would appear (from the Mayfair store) that delivery promise of week just ended went by the board and they are now looking at end of Sept for first batch of M9s. So we're holding on to our M8s for a little while longer! FWIW Red Dot had a used M8 listed at £1999 now two at £1799 but in less than mint condition. chris_livsey Posted September 20, 2009 Share #43 Posted September 20, 2009 I should have explained: Aperture has no Leica agency so cannot sell new. That doesn't seem to stop The Classic camera selling "new" Red Dot had a used M8 listed at £1999 now two at £1799 but in less than mint condition. Ffordes are listing 4 x Black & 1 x Chrome M8 and 2 x Black M8.2 and 1 x Chrome but not as attractive prices, for the buyer No affiliations with any of the mentioned stores or indeed any not mentioned. Interesting that no M8u have been spotted. Does this mean M8u owners are holding out for sapphire glass or they are just happy or fewer were upgraded than perhaps we thought ? Guest EarlBurrellPhoto Posted September 20, 2009 Share #44 Posted September 20, 2009 The M8 value doesn't drop a cent until and unless you sell it
