When the red light stops flashing?

Sorry, Jaap, but the red light also doesn't flash when the camera is asleep. I would like to know how I can tell a sleeping M9 from an M9 that is ready to shoot?! This is of absolutely vital importance, IMO, if you don't want to lose any shots with a sleeping camera.

To me, this is a huge problem, if you want those desicive moment shots, and your camera is ready after a second... well, I guess that is why I love my d700, which is instant, so when I got a hyperfocal focused 24mm at f/8, i can just compose/snap in an instant.

Does the fact, that my simple question is not answered by anyone, mean that there actually is no way to tell a sleeping M9 from an M9 that is ready to shoot?

I don't think so, but when I walk about I keep tappig the shutter button when I approach an interesting situation. I would imagine that having to check whether the camera is awake by whichever menas would mean losing the shot.
