lct Posted November 21, 2006 Share #21 Posted November 21, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Size and weight do count as well. Also depends on vintage of lenses. I prefer the pre-aph 50/1.4 or this 50/2 (left) for portrait for instance. Both are more forgiving for not so young subjects than the 50/1.4 asph (right) and offer a somewhat unique blend of resolution, contrast and smoothness like those of the 35/2 4th version or the Summicron-C 40/2 if you see what i mean. But if sharpness is of paramount importance then the 50/1.4 asph is unbeatable amongst 50mm Leica lenses IMO. (never owned 35/1.4 lenses sorry)
Advertisement Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi lct, Take a look here Summilux or Summicron? . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
reven Posted November 21, 2006 Share #22 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi, I had the same desicion to make with the 50 and 75 Summilux or Summicron.. I choose the cron twice. Why ? Because I don't need the diffrence between 1,4 and 2, and because in all tests I have ssen so far was the cron a little bit sharper. So that was way more important.
