For me is going to be a real upgrade because I have the first M8. I'm really impresed about the M9. Some of the new features of the M9 are going to improve my limits. I really trust Leica. I knew they were going to make a great camera. So I pre-ordered mine before it was announced. I love and I'm enjoying so much the M8 that I know how every improvement is going to improve my photography. So is difficult to get sleep at night. Any news about the shipment of the M9? I'd suspect people who pre-ordered AFTER the webcast 9/9 may have a wait, although it depends on where you are in the world. SOme have them already, it seems. U.S dealers will get them next week sometime - but maybe in small allotments. Singapore dealers don't have them yet but two dealershere said they expect it next week at the earliest. On Monday, 14th September there is a launch event so I expect that after that they will be in the shops. I ordered mine from SH Photo at SH photo GmbH and I'm expecting it either tomorrow (Saturday) or on Monday. On 9/9/09 they replied that they had no such list and did not have any details on the camera, but within two hours there was a pre-order page up on their website and I signed up. Even so, I hear it will be 2-4 weeks before they have any. No doubt MR will get his a bit sooner! Chris I remember when Carsand Mosher in Halifax (NS) had a window full of Leicas. The quantities coming in are very limited but we have shipment coming in almost every week after next week. As of this morning, current shipment coming in will be filling in backorders till early December!"
