nugat Posted September 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) We know almost everything now about p864 aka M9. Some more reviews and pictures will come in, but they won't change opinions dramatically. Leica delivered a surprising miracle to the faithful. A blow from the sky or even two: the X1 was a large cherry on the cake. In the Apple-like manner the stodgy German company set off an amazing round of modern viral marketing and then even pulled the " and now one more thing" trick. A famous star appeared at the internet press conference and talked about his 50 Leicas and how his superblonde, supergermanic, supermodel wife wonders how the engineering marvels manage to pull the alpha-male away from her sensous, curvaceous uberbody. Never mind the broadcast looked like a last videocall from the besieged fuhrer's bunker-- it was a dazzling achievement for the Men of Solms. Seal was so bedazzled he just grabbed the 30,000$ S2 camera from the CEO presenting it unconvincingly to him and stood there mingling the gift in his boxer's hands looking blankly ahead. Tomorrow morning we'll wake up to a brave old world of safe design and unimaginative ergonomics, where Ford A in black, with a new engine, parks in our driveway. Those who only like old songs will be happy. No surprises, just more of the familiar good stuff. Some silly dreamers who thought of a revolution along M3 lines will jump the ship to smaller, nimbler, cheaper boats. Seal with one hand will caress Heidi, clutching with the other the big brick of metal and glass, thinking: "did he really give it me...?" . The Church of the Converts got another Gospel and remains in faith. The world outside doesn't notice the minor miracle in the community of 0,09 per cent. ddp Posted September 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2009 And some will actually go out and use these cameras....oh the moaning is just fascinating over the past two days regarding the product announcements. Good lord, seems like we're back in kindergarten here.
UliWer Posted September 10, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2009 ... The world outside doesn't notice the minor miracle in the community of 0,09 per cent. Good idea! Why don't you just join the world outside and ignore it as well. Missionaries shouldn't spend their times on the very few who soon will die. They preach to the masses. markgay Posted September 10, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 10, 2009 Yes, I get the OP. Appreciate the M9. Look at the amazing reality of what Leica's offered us. Realise how bland life could be. And be grateful.
Bo_Lorentzen Posted September 10, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 10, 2009 Im still confused, I did not in the webcast realize that Seal "got" the S2, I think he was joking about it. Not that it matters, there are more M's where this one came from. .
