UK Leica salesman seems to have been favouring certain dealers by ensuring they had considerable stock yesterday and then told other smaller dealers that Leica UK would have no stock at all for 10 days or more. Stupid - doesn't he realise that people would talk on the internet about their M9. Leica keep banging on about customer loyalty and loyalty to your local Leica dealer. This is not the way to engender it. My dealer is pretty unhappy about this situation and will be taking it up with David Bell (MD of Leica UK) tomorrow. Grey/Anthracite when it does arrive. I was told I could have one yesterday but I'm on holiday and decided to pass for now. It is not the 10 days I mind, after all I had to wait months for my M8. It was the fact that the Leica rep was lying to my dealer and a pretty stupid lie at that. My dealer is H.A.Baker in Lewes, who I have used for many years. They are a very small dealer and unless I and a few others support them, they will give up. They are only 4 miles from my UK base and therefore very convenient. I am going back to the UK next week for a board meeting, when it would have been very convenient to drop by my dealer and pick it up but now it is going to have to come to me in France by courier - both additional expense and risk. I had replacement Meridian G57 power amplifiers sent to me in France last year to replace the one destroyed by a lightning strike. The couriers had the first one stolen and the other arrived in bits. I gave up and bought an inferior pair of monoblocs locally. I would not be happy if that happened to my M9. Wilson Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
