kschwarz Posted September 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am on the webcast site. It says it is playing, and at first I got a screen starting at 9:00 ET, now 9:15 ET, still nothing at 9:25 ET. Does anybody have a signal? I wish that Leica would figure out this technical stuff, as these glitches make the company look so inept. I love their stuff, but appearances to count sometimes... kschwarz Posted September 9, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted September 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) You know, all they had to do was post a YouTube link on their website. It would have been so easy to for Leica to deliver their message to the masses. Instead, they asked all their users to put aside what they were doing, on a workday no less, to watch their message. In the end, they showed that they still have a long way to go in the technical arena. Why do they feel they need to reinvent everything? Why not just use the tools that are out there? So frustrating! TimF Posted September 9, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 9, 2009 Worked fine for me. A couple of sound drop outs, most notably when Stephan was afflicted with feedback!
malcolm Posted September 9, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 9, 2009 Tina, Thanks very much. Unfortunately, I was only able to try the link beginning at 9:50 AM EDT, so only saw the last Seal comments & presentation. Anyone know how to replay the entire webcast? davephoto Posted September 9, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 9, 2009 Very well produced webcast. I had doubts at 9pm - here in Asia - that the technology would allow Leica to pull this off. But I was pleasantly surprised to be able to watch the event in its entirety. Great product line. I'm extremely excited to see them for myself and can't wait for the local dealer to get them in stock. I have an R5, D2 and a Minilux and am ready for a new addition to the family. So Seal has had an M9 for a month now?! ... And he was just presented with an S2?! ... And he's married to Heidi?!.... *Safari 4.0.3 on a MacBook running 10.6*
LADP Posted September 9, 2009 Share #12 Posted September 9, 2009 I was able to connect, and watch it, though I had my doubts that it would work smoothly. I think a fast connection is key, and I used Firefox on a MacBook Pro.

Fotobug Posted September 9, 2009 Share #15 Posted September 9, 2009 I just watched it via the Vimeo website, using Safari browser. I should think it will be available on the Leica website later in the day, and/or even Youtube. The more I heard about the M9, the more I wanted one. Good job. And very best wishes for success. Fotobug Posted September 9, 2009 Share #16 Posted September 9, 2009 Oh, forgot to mention that I am in SF Bay area, Mac G4 desktop using AT&T Uverse dsl connection. Worked fine. Granted, the reason that I wandered to the Vimeo website was random wandering because the Leica site was not loading up. A lot of curiosity for 9am! davephoto Posted September 9, 2009 Share #17 Posted September 9, 2009 Well, here in China (on an Apple), we're "failing to communicate." I'm in China on either business or relaxation a few day a week (pretty much every week) and find the broadband connection spotty in most places. What's your experience in BJ? ereising Posted September 9, 2009 Share #18 Posted September 9, 2009 Listened to the whole presentation with a blank computer screen. Thought my computer screen was out but think it was a technical glitch. Still excited about the X1! I'm in south Texas.
