adan Posted September 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone know a good plastic parts maker (or maybe a fine machinist?) Here's the M9, with nothing filling that half-circle step by the viewfinder.... Make a mold from an M3/M2/MP rewind knob, trim the height, paint or mold in black or steel-gray, cut in half, add SuperGlue™....

I dislike this design too (as for the M8). I would have put the counter inside the button, like this: Maybe for the M10 ? gwelland Posted September 6, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 6, 2009 Those worried about stealth and not wanting to appear to be carrying an M9 could have a widget that filled in the space so that the M9 looked like an M8, and then mask all the lettering with tape as normal. adan Posted September 6, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted September 6, 2009 I wasn't thinking of stealth or disguise so much - just that the M9 looked like something was....missing. Just one of those 1:00 am ideas....

Just one of those 1:00 am ideas.... IMHO what's missing is the engraved lettering on the top that was part of the original M design.
UliWer Posted September 6, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 6, 2009 IMHO what's missing is the engraved lettering on the top that was part of the original M design. That's one of the reasons I wait with a M9 - exspecting it will show the Name "Wetzlar" engraved again on the top one day.
