Advertisement Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Hi scaryink, Take a look here Please only speculation on the M8 forum. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

scaryink Posted September 4, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted September 4, 2009 Yes I think so Andy. Of course its about photography und zees discuzzion es verboten. I posted a thread yesterday about trying to make digital files similar to film specifically including the effects of soft focus aberrations. With my real world attempt. Today another post showing an image from a century + old pictorial lens and the effects of chemical focus - as a contrast to the usual shooting of modern day lenses. I have also posted a number of digital paintings where photography and digital painting are combined. Oh thats right, these are more on the creative side of things - not to be discussed here. I am aware that none of this compares to the speculation and excited rampant consumerism that has been given free reign here. BTW the congrats to yourself thread , out of curiosity why has it remained on the M8 side of things. Shouldn' that end up in the barn or other alleyway :D:D. Of course not I was just kidding. It has everything to do with hardware or software of Leica digicams

delander † Posted September 4, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2009 I agree with Bill, in fact Scary I suggest that you stop trying to bait Andy and take a little time to read his blog. Jeff
jaapv Posted September 4, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 4, 2009 What is your problem, Scary? Kicking out at authority is a pastime for juveniles....
erl Posted September 4, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Scary, if you continue to display "attitude", it will come back to bite you. You have been given good advise from time to time, but you don't seem to be happy to conform to the protocols that control this forum. The administrator and the mods have the last say, which does not mean it is ALWAYS right, but it IS the last say. Nothing can be clearer than that. You don't have to like it, but you do have to conform to it. Within that structure, go for it and enjoy what is organized for you. .......... and be happy about it. It helps. scaryink Posted September 5, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted September 5, 2009 You know you guys are right. This is not the forum for me. I have not learned a single useful piece of information to help me create better images. This little bit about the digital taliban and authority has finally made these facts clear as crystal. So long and happy spending.
scaryink Posted September 5, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted September 5, 2009 One final request. How is it to clear my name and posts and image posts from the board? Please let me know if there is any further action needed on my part.
stephengilbert Posted September 5, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 5, 2009 "Got anything constructive to post, then?" Constructive meaning uncritical, yes? I, too, find the obsession here unfortunate and kind of sad. What color M9 are you buying? That's certainly constructive. Can't we at least limit questions like that to readers who aren't color blind or possessed of horrible taste. How about a thread on what kind of lizard skin do you recommend for an M9, and how soon before it will be available? At least the fellow who was not constructive will be leaving. That'll return things to their usual constructive level.
erl Posted September 5, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 5, 2009 You know you guys are right. This is not the forum for me. I have not learned a single useful piece of information to help me create better images. Creating better images is a personal journey. If you have failed you know who to blame. This little bit about the digital taliban and authority has finally made these facts clear as crystal. It's commonly called rules overseen by and established authority. You will find most civilised groups use the same model.
erl Posted September 5, 2009 Share #12 Posted September 5, 2009 One final request. How is it to clear my name and posts and image posts from the board? Please let me know if there is any further action needed on my part. Simlest method is to just dissapear. A PM to 'admin' may offer alternative options. Basically, you have 'broadcast' when you post. It's a bit like trying to wind back words spoken. Never been achieved to my knowledge.
erl Posted September 5, 2009 Share #13 Posted September 5, 2009 Stephen, the simplest thing is to ignore the threads or posts that don't interest you. I agree, there is a lot of twaddle drifting around but it is easy to ignore and just focus on what interests you. It does seem to interest others which justifies it I guess. The forum does need to cover a wide range of interests, not all of which will be of interest to each individual. My personal interest covers probably 10% or less of the posts, but I need to keep across more as an admin thing.
DennisPT Posted September 5, 2009 Share #14 Posted September 5, 2009 If I were you, I'll get a domain, pay to set up server and hosting and be a moderator of your forum; then you can set your own rules and be happy.
efftee Posted September 5, 2009 Share #15 Posted September 5, 2009 You know you guys are right. This is not the forum for me. I have not learned a single useful piece of information to help me create better images. This little bit about the digital taliban and authority has finally made these facts clear as crystal. So long and happy spending. Here is something that I do not understand. What's the difference here and in any community? There are all kinds of people on the planet, with all kinds of interests, values, philosophies, politics, religion, et al, many of which I am certain you do not subscribe to. Would you up and quit the world? Why do you choose to adopt this intolerant and bitter persona here? You are obviously an intelligent person, surely you know that nothing is ever all good or all bad. Can you deny that despite that which irks you on this side of the coin, there is that which tickles you on the flip side? C'mon, chill a little, life's too short to dance in knotted panties... erl Posted September 6, 2009 Share #17 Posted September 6, 2009 ... as do most intolerant and repressive groups ... And your point, in context, is?? Are we to understand you to be in favour of NO authority, or am I misreading your drift? Another reading is that Scary would not be happy under ANY regime that exhibits authority and discipline, which is probable.
Guest stnami Posted September 6, 2009 Share #18 Posted September 6, 2009 Oi scardycat, you've got no balls if you are running away with your tail between your legs sulking like a flea bitten moggy. I have made great friends here like that guy guy, the flasher and that scary guy so it has been very constructive. There is always some useful spinets on the forum even from the guys who are up the Khyber pass and spend most of their time fondling their cameras. I guess you are just shirty because there are not enough people here stoking your ego. I doubt if you will be missed ............ the Fly now there was a great episode, loved that. Scary move to deviant art the kids will love you
ccc yyy Posted September 7, 2009 Share #19 Posted September 7, 2009 And your point, in context, is??the point being ... "rules overseen by and established authority" is not an exclusive domain, thus not necessarily a sign, of a "civilized" group. Another reading is that Scary would not be happy under ANY regime that exhibits authority and discipline, which is probable.yet another reading is that Scary may actually be a "thinking" man ... and not just another "brick in the wall".
