Advertisement Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Hi leicamann, Take a look here The Blues, time, friends and reminiscing. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted November 18, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2006 Nice work, John. Are you going to share some details?
Guest lykoudos Posted November 18, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 18, 2006 Hello John, Inspiring admission in an unusual city. Liberating the area on the large roads. One cannot so at all experience that in such a way in the “old world of Western Europe”. Here everything is so close and in the heads continues it lively. Kind regards Wolfgang (MPler grey hammertone (2,8/28; 1,4/50; 2/90)
robert_parker Posted November 18, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 18, 2006 John That really is one that people will want to hang on the wall - for me, I would have loved the crop to be maybe a millimetre higher at the top and a millimetre up at the bottom but that doesen't detract from an outstanding and colourful shot taken in the most difficult of circumstances. I particularly like the photographer's shadow in the centre. Really is exhibition / bookcover / signed print stuff.
leicamann Posted November 18, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted November 18, 2006 Thank you everyone for your kind words. Actually as a habit now I do not post the camera or details because the "text" can be "moused over" even before you open this post. That I think is wrong and unfair, people will comment based only on the "camera used"..that I find faulty as well..so hence my reticence. The shadow is actually a woman waiting for the crossing light, this is a 2 minute exposure so she appeared as a shadow. The camera and lens and film is/ Leicaflex SL/ R 35mm F2.8 Elmarit with a Leica Circular polarizer to "cut out " the glare. The film is Kodak T(tungsten) 100 exposed at F22 for 2 minutes plus an umbrella braced against my body, it otook every ounce of my effort to keep the tripod from moving in the stormy weather. Robert the " Exposure Gallery" is already considering this one as a candidate..so your right on that one. Regards, Leicamann

stunsworth Posted November 19, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 19, 2006 John, I understand you reticence. Strange as it may seem there are people who have more interest in how a photograph is produced than the photograph itself. There are people who have no interest in a digital photograph no matter how good it is, and I'm sure there are people who feel the same way about photographs created using film. Personally I think this is bizarre, but I suppose they are entitled to their opinion. But, even so I would like you to include the equipment details in the images, it gives us all something to aspire to ;-)
