bchabopa Posted August 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) So I have 3 cameras (35mm) that have not the greatest of all lenses. I was wondering if there was an adapter ring (vivitar style) that would allow me to put a nice leica lens on these cameras. They are: Exakta VX IIa Minolta SRT 102 Canon EOS 605 Any lens (leica) is fine Even if anyone knows a way to put a nice leica lens on a cheap camera, that would be nice to know too. I can't afford a new or even refurb camera, but i have a much higher chance that i could afford a lens Please tell me if you have any info. Thanks, bchabopa
Advertisement Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Hi bchabopa, Take a look here Leica lenses... do they adapt?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted August 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 30, 2009 The only one I know of is the Leica R to Canon adaptor - you can find them on e bay. The good news is that s/h Leica R lenses have never been cheaper!
zeitz Posted September 2, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2009 There is some combination of Novoflex adapters that would mount these lenses. However, they would not focus anywhere close to infinity. SLRs are about 45mm thick from lens flange to film plane. M cameras are only 28.8mm thick from flange to film. Add on the adapter thickness, and the focus would be for closeup.
tobey bilek Posted September 2, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2009 Leica M bodies are thin compared to reflex cameras which need to accomodate a moving mirror. If the lens were mounted to something else, it would be too far ffrom the film. The Voitlander Besa cameras are as cheap as the better adapters. earleygallery Posted September 2, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 2, 2009 As the OP is referring to SLR cameras which he already owns, the R lenses make more sense I think. The Canon adaptor will work on your body with no problems - I use on a Canon DSLR and R glass.
