I used thes three alien lenses on a IIIf for some time, and was delighted with the results. From left : 5 cm 1:2 Sonnar, 9 cm 1:4,5 and 3,5 cm 1:3,5 Oude Delft. These two last were quite popular with Benelux Leica users after WW2; both optically and mechanically excellent, they were sometimes more easily available than Leitz products...but unfortunately hardly cheaper.

Could you post some images that you think communicate the special rendering these lenses draw?

I'll try to find and digitalize some, but it will take time : I changed to M3 as early as 1956 (53 years ago!) and probably didn't use the lenses since then: In fact, I think I sold or traded them in the early 70s. More : I moved three times, the last time from Belgium to Portugal (in 1993) and lost sight of many pixes and negatives in the processes. I remember one of a young cousin I took with the Oude Delft 9 cm, which I could probably find back. Wait and see...

The one of the left is a post-war CZJ 5cm f2. I've used it on a Contax II and with an M-Mount adapter. It is rare in Leica mount, and might be a custom job. I rebuilt a custom mounted F1.5 version of that lens, just sent it to a Leica M8 owner.

Sonnars in Leica Mount is a passion of mine, I have converted 16 of them from Contax to Leica.

I would like to see the pictures taken with the other two lenses as well.
