leica007 Posted August 27, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Time to bid farewell to my Zeiss ZM 50/2 Planar. It's a stellar performer, but my ZM 50/1.5 is too good. And it doesn't make financial sense to possess both. Hence, the planar has to go. Anyone in a similar position? ------- PS: I have put an ad for sale of this lens on Gumtree [uK], anyone interested may visit: Leica Mount Zeiss Zm 50mm f2 planar B& W Uv and hood Oxford Digital cameras 2nd hand digital cameras for sale London

Shootist Posted August 27, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 27, 2009 Yes but I didn't post a advertisement for the sale of both my 50 cron and elmar on this forum site. The 50 Lux ASPH is just to good and much better then your ZM lenses.

leica007 Posted August 27, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted August 27, 2009 My sincere apologies if the post sounded like an advertisement. Hope I haven't violated any norm here. I tried to edit and remove the postscript section of the post, but could not do so. It's locked. I would not mind if any moderator kindly removes ONLY the postscript section/paragraph. Cheers. Guest Colt Seavers Posted August 27, 2009 Share #7 Posted August 27, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ah, this is funny, also the main post ("one lens has to go") sounds like an indirect ad to me Deleting the postscript by a moderator gives some extra promotion, I´m sure
NB23 Posted August 27, 2009 Share #8 Posted August 27, 2009 I don't understand these posts. Who cares if you're selling a lens you love? And if it's so good, why are you selling it? It's like this frequent poster who wrote a huge post over at rff about how much he loves his Zeiss camera, how great that camera is, how much better then Leica can Zeiss can be, how Leica lacks this and that... but he chose to keep all his Leicas and sell the Zeiss. It's all too confusing. Or maybe shilling at work. Yes, that's it: shilling at work.
leica007 Posted August 27, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted August 27, 2009 Deleting the postscript by a moderator gives some extra promotion, I´m sure How? Would you care to explain, before alleging ?
leica007 Posted August 27, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted August 27, 2009 Yes, that's it: shilling at work. 'Shilling' of what? And who cares if you don't care ?? it's not obligatory to read all the posts - peole post as they feel, not considering what would make you happy. leica007 Posted August 27, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted August 27, 2009 As I have already mentioned, I am sorry about the gumtree link. But now it's beyond my control. Apologies if you guys felt offended.

Will you post about your deep feelings once the lens is sold?
A_E_Darling Posted August 27, 2009 Share #13 Posted August 27, 2009 I'm saddened by the kind of silliness which began to surface here. Too many fora have endless posts of insults and unsubstantiated statements which are frankly a sign of bad manners and or a waste of time. Leica users may not all be gentlemen/women, but it would be much nicer if they could behave as if they were when they post. Are you in agreement Shootist? leica007 Posted August 28, 2009 Author Share #14 Posted August 28, 2009 By the way, the same post on the Rangefinder Forum has attracted interesting comments - not as obtuse as here. Sorry to say that. Check this out - with photos from others and me. http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78567
NB23 Posted August 28, 2009 Share #15 Posted August 28, 2009 By the way, the same post on the Rangefinder Forum has attracted interesting comments - not as obtuse as here. Sorry to say that. Check this out - with photos from others and me. http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78567 You're selling a lens that you don't need (a thing millions of people do everyday) and you ask people for their thoughts? You know as well as anybody that people sell unneeded stuff on a daily basis, so... If it isn't shilling then I'm baffled. But just to make one thing clear: What do you expect when that other forum is run by Voigtlander's american distributor and the ever present tom abrahamson will always try to sell you a few Cosina products with his "voigltlander is better then Leica" constant gargle? This is why you have a bunch of pro-Cosina users singing in choir. If you ask me, I'd recommend that you sell both lenses and buy a solid summilux 50 pre-asph. I somewhat never swallowed the fact that Zeiss is offering uncalibrated Sonnars with the fad explanation that the lenses are calibrated for shooting at f2.8. What a joke. Go with a Summilux, own the best.
leica007 Posted August 28, 2009 Author Share #16 Posted August 28, 2009 what agree with you - at last ! - is the summilux part. don't have money or don't want to invest in it right now - but one day, may be. peace.
