Advertisement Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Hi vdb, Take a look here Dragonfly.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted August 25, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 25, 2009 Virgil, A beautiful capture with the light outline on the Dragonfly in front of the dark background. Paul
StFreud Posted August 25, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 25, 2009 It looks a bit like a probeller of an aircraft. The black background works well. Stefan
Marquinius Posted August 25, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 25, 2009 Virgil, A very good setup and worth trying to catch another one! The grass and background is top, as is the saturation of the colors. The dragonfly is (for me) just a little too abstract and doesn't do the beastie enough honor, I think. But a VERY difficult capture no doubt and a worthy experiment. biglouis Posted August 25, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 25, 2009 Looks like a plane doing a banking turn before landing. Great capture. LouisB
vdb Posted August 25, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted August 25, 2009 Thank you all for looking. This was just a playful capture...obviously not the correct set-up for this kind of photography but what the heck:)

vdb Posted August 25, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted August 25, 2009 George,Al-thanks. Al, last pm I noticed about 2o dragonflies feasting in my back yard. I layed prone, stabilized the DL4 with my elows, shot about 50 images with manual focus at 3 feet, wide open while the flew by. Then I cropped the heck out of it and used Vivezia to add color and abstraction. I need a life................
