vdb Posted August 23, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 23, 2009 Keith, That last one can stand on its own. .. One for the People Section IMHO. Lovely series. I agree with Ivan, but also add that #3 is superb. Love the mood and atmosphere of these shots. You should post these 2 in the people section so others will view them. Excellent. elansprint72 Posted August 23, 2009 Share #7 Posted August 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) As kids we used to watch these war-time Austerity locos clanking up the hill from Heaton Mersey to Didsbury hauling long coal trains (I hasten to add that this was many years after they were built). They were built down to a price in difficult times and so they really did clank. I think I'm right in saying that this is the only one left out of nearly a thousand and that it was recovered from somewhere in northern Europe. Good set of shots, agree about the people aspects. Some of the thingies are: sand-box filler cap, oil reservoir/pipes and a big cranked thingie.
stuny Posted August 24, 2009 Share #8 Posted August 24, 2009 Keith - 3 & 4 are excellent and deserve to be seen by more members. I encourage you to post them in the People section.
SJP Posted August 24, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 24, 2009 Great pictures! Maybe more people need to move out of the people area and into the real world over here:D
