The boxes for them show grey so that I cannot change. thanks
Advertisement Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Hi jjjjuin, Take a look here 2 M8 beginner questions. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
microview Posted August 18, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2009 How can I set the sharpening, color saturation, and contrast in the Menu? The boxes for them show grey so that I cannot change. If camera is set for raw, DNG, they don't apply. Change menu to +JPEG and they will be available for preference settings.
earleygallery Posted August 18, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 18, 2009 1) you need to register for your warranty and also to claim your 2 free IR filters.

But are you really sure you want to have theese adjusted by the camera instead of do it yourself in post processing?
Shootist Posted August 18, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 18, 2009 But are you really sure you want to have theese adjusted by the camera instead of do it yourself in post processing? Adjusting them for the JPG is no big deal. The RAW (DNG) image will not be effected and will not have these adjustments. If the OP plans on shotting just JPG's then maybe he has bought the wrong type of camera. As far as registration you need to do that at the Leica site so you can get your 2 free filters, that is if you bought your M8 new or used and it had never been registered for the free filter, doubtful this has happened with a used M8. Also you need to "SEND IN" the warranty card, at least if you're in the USA. Other parts of the world I have no idea.

Other parts of the world I have no idea. I sent in the registration card in June, but I haven't got anything from Leica. Does Leica send you anything when they receive the registration card in mail? I have already registered on-line and got two free filters, though...

I cannot recall receiving any confirmation when I sent the card. I was happy when I got my 2 filters, and that was registration proof enough for me. john_newell Posted August 19, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 19, 2009 Not as far as I know. Oh for the days when you got a silver medal with O.B. on it and a leather wallet!
