Advertisement Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Hi stuny, Take a look here Stibnite. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted August 18, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2009 Stuart, A wonderful shot of a mineral that's related to Antimony. When I was young and stupid, I used to smelt a combination of lead, tin and antimony to cast bullets for handgun ammo. I later found out that it is hazardous to do that and also discovered photography which is more productive than shooting at someone. Paul

stuny Posted August 20, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted August 20, 2009 Paul - You've given me an idea for how to get lethal poisons without any record of purchase. Virgil - For the museums and restaurants alone you'll need to spend quite a lot of time out here.
SJP Posted August 20, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 20, 2009 Beautiful picture of remarkable crystal specimen. It is worth noting that the other sample is Galena, i.e. lead ore (PbS) with characteristic cubic crystals. Now all Virgil needs is some Cassiterite (SnO2) and a furnace and he can start making his own shot from scratch. This would be a nice weekend project.
