c6gowin Posted November 16, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was excited to get a call from my dealer telling me that the grip for my M8 has arrived and shipping to me today. Has anyone else tried the grip and have an opinion to offer? I think it will be a great addition. I am still waiting on an extra battery and there is no word when they will be available. grober Posted November 16, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2006 Cancelled my M8 grip order to wait for TA's solution from Canada. By itself, the body is too slippery. Neckstrap is mandatory at this point in time. -g
woodyspedden Posted November 16, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 16, 2006 Got mine today. Everything as expected as you would expect from Leica at a measly $200!. Seriously the grip makes the M8 a much more practical imaging experience and i am personally delighted to have it. Now if I only had one more battery I would be the happiest camper. Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 16, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 16, 2006 Right now i would give someone 200 dollars for a stinking battery. I have 2 shoots tomorrow and it won't make it. Charge in car between them i guess. This is really stupid that you can't get a battery. Sorry but this part is upsetting , i called the world looking for one. nryn Posted November 16, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Guy, It's probably easier to track down a second M8 than it is to track down a battery right now. Consider it a $5000 battery that comes with a free camera?

nick0137 Posted November 16, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 16, 2006 shphoto.de say they have them in stock - ordered one yesterday. (And a grip, and another lens and.....)
blovitch Posted November 16, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 16, 2006 I spoke to Leica UK yesterday on the battery issue. There is not a battery to be had in the UK until the next shipment arrives from Leica, however they did promise to let me know when they arrive.... Frustration and elation in equal measures at the moment.... -Tim
cam2000 Posted November 16, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 16, 2006 For the lucky M8 photographers ....... how many shots do you get on a full charged battery? I know it depends on how much you use it for reviews.....( in general working situations)
