jrc Posted November 15, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pascal's note seems to suggest that a firmware fix may be coming for the banding issue, but that the magenta problem is going to take a hardware fix -- filters. Has anybody (who isn't actually involved in their creation) tried to evaluate the fixes suggested here, by Jamie Roberts, and on Luminous Landscape by Michael Reichmann (using the P30 profile in C1?) Depending on how well these work, it would seem to me that the profiling should be transferable to firmware. Do these fixes fall short in some way, that could not be remedied by people who are sophisticated in the manipulation of IR (like the people at Phase One)? An internal firmware fix would seem to me to be far preferable to hardware -- if it works. JC

lct Posted November 15, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 15, 2006 ...for actual examples of hardware vs. software filtration... Interesting Mark thanks. What's the actual colour of the blanket behind the banana and the lens?
jrc Posted November 15, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 15, 2006 Mark: Thank you. In the D200 sample, the blanket looks greenish on my screen, and other items look black. Is the blanket greenish, or is that a color cast? In the Phase One filtered samples with the M8, the blanket looks to be a flat black... JC
