Advertisement Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Hi Bob Jackson, Take a look here Pedernal. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Printmaker Posted July 31, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 31, 2009 Great. Thanks for the memories. Another great but little photographed area is the Caja just south of Santa Fe out towards, but south of, Diablo Canyon. Take the BLM cattle roads south and west towards La Bajada then hike the arroyos towards the Rio Grande. First its nothing but cactus, pinion and volcanic cinder cones but then you come onto some amazing canyons. I haven't been back there in 20 years so the access roads might have changed but the canyons should still be there. Tom
allamande Posted July 31, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 31, 2009 Bob, this is spectacular. The framing, tones, the moment, and oh that mountain! Ece PS You can probably play with the contrast (just slightly) to kick things up a notch.
stuny Posted July 31, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 31, 2009 Bob - You had some wonderful photo opportunities, and made good use of them. This is terrific for composition and moment, though I think it could benefit from a bit of punching up.
vdb Posted July 31, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 31, 2009 Wow Bob, how atmospheric. I really would have loved to join you on this trip. Excellent. I agree with Stuart and Ece, this one deserves more tweaking. I would play with the tonal range on Nik Silver. Breathtaking.
pauledell Posted August 1, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 1, 2009 Bob, A stunning picture with great dramatic effects. I agree with the others about the tweaking with PP. Paul
Bob Jackson Posted August 1, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted August 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stu & Virgil, I am having a terrible time with my postings to the forum. The Pedernal photo as wellas the Chama River photo were much richer in Aperture, and then when I uploaded them the either lost punch or gain over saturation in the process. Really frustrating. Any ideas?
