spylaw4 Posted November 14, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I see from the AppleInsider website http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2231 that Apple has just posted software updates (PPC and Intel) for camera RAW support, amongst a slew of other updates. Don't know yet what additional cameras are supported.

jfgilbert Posted November 14, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 14, 2006 Maybe... I am not doing it rght. I just downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted my MacBook Pro (Intel). Aperture still does not want to import the M8 DNGs. I get "Image format not supported." Jacques
andybarton Posted November 14, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 14, 2006 Me too. This is clearly not the update we were waiting for... But it's OK, because Apple can work with Canon and Nikon and their proprietary RAW formats, but not with the alleged "open" one
mhoutman Posted November 14, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 14, 2006 This is just a interim bugfix release of 1.0. I hope Apple will support Leica with a next update. Michiel

eronald Posted November 14, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I feel much more at ease with Lightroom… Adobe are not perfect, but they do listen to customers, fix bugs, and steadily improve their products. In fact, from the standpoint of stability and incremental improvement, I would call them exemplary. Maybe Leica coudl hire some managers from Adobe ? JHAG Posted November 14, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 14, 2006 I still have a pending problem with CS2. Since 2 days, it crashes on launch. I identified the culprit : TWAIN plugin. I put it out on my dekstop. CS2 launches perfectly. Except I cannot export/import from/to Lightroom anymore… Tried everything, even a reinstall of CS2. Eoin Posted November 14, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 14, 2006 Maybe... I am not doing it rght.I just downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted my MacBook Pro (Intel). Aperture still does not want to import the M8 DNGs. I get "Image format not supported." Jacques I can import M8 DNG's into Aperture but that's about all. They display in the main viewer as a small image but I have no zoom or full screen option with them. The only option to play at the moment is to convert within C1pro to 16bit Tiff and then import the Tiff into Aperture. I wish to keep using aperture given the 1.51 seems to have addressed most of the speed issues I was having with the MBP and PPC G5 but the overhead of 56mb Tiff files v's 10mb DNG's seems excessive. I guess I'll have to use C1Pro until Apple address this problem with the next upgrade to the base OS.

The small image that you see is the thumbnail image which is used to display on the back of the DMR. I had heard on good authority that Leica specific DNG support would be coming to Aperture before Christmas. I suppose that there's still 6 weeks to go...
